water has filled in the Marconahalli dam from this dams automatic siphon gates the water is flowing out, come let us see the visuals when the water level is less in this dam i have gone inside the siphon gate and have made its video to view that video click the link above the link is also available in the description this dam with automated siphon system was the first of its kind in Karnataka Marconahalli dam was built by Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV his then Diwan Sir M Vishveswaraiaha guidance was used to construct this dam in Tumkur district, near Kunigal the dam is built in the village named Marconahalli it is an earthen dam due to its automated siphon system this dams gates are always open only when the water level increases through the siphon water will flow out due to automatic gates this dam does not require much maintenance this kind of automatic gates are not even available in KRS Dam from two kilometers it pulls the water and just like how the Mixer churns that way it churns the water and then throws the water out up to 15 feet thats is the water gushing out below this no electricity or motor is available here yediyur temple should not get submerged at the same time the dam should also not suffer such the dam has been built hence automatic system was installed yediyur temple where is it?here you can see that is Yediyur temple come notice the water has reached to this level if you come when the water levels are low during summer you can climb down but it is difficult to climb down and you may require permission the area below the dam too i have covered in the previous video water level when it rises beyond the limit this temper will come here this temper will come forward we climb down deep down there is the gate after deciding weather to release 5 feet or 10 feet of water . accordingly the water is released this is opened manually if electricity is not there then here is a handle, with which we lift it up if electricity is there then switch ON come here now here water has risen to 91 feet from here we can climb down and go to the bottom part of the dam stairs are available for the same let us go and see there here right next to us you can see the water flowing Shimsha river fills and overflows from Marconahalli dam through this way goes from here till it reaches Ganalu falls not many are aware of that falls Ganalu falls is also known as Benki falls generally water flow is less in the falls hence not many know of it but when Marconahalli dam fills and overflows that falls becomes active to view that falls video i have added its link in the description or you can click the link above from here the water flows further to two other dams one is Shimshapura dam and the other is Igalooru dam, both dam videos i have done check the description to view those videos Shimsha river flows further and after shivana samudra joins Kaveri river
